I recently received this wonderful book offered by the site “Alapage”. Here is my choice : Secret & beauty rituals from around the world. It's really a book of great beauty, bien illustré, explanations are interesting and above, it is a pleasure to discover the rituals of several countries.

The book begins with Asia… déjà un grand coup de cœur pour moi.

The journey goes to America… I find myself here at home… traveling in North America… pour découvrir comment on se garde bien au chaud 😉 pour ensuite glisser doucement vers le sud, Mexico… is, we talk about chocolate and tequila… what link ? Well, il vous faudra lire le livre 😉

Six-hour flight later we find ourselves in Europe… the country of lamb with mint, England and potions, France and its intoxicating fruit, Russia and its mythical alcohol, to finish with Italy, messenger of the gods of beauty.

Then, the heat of Africa appears : the Maghreb, Egypt and Black Africa. A delight or it could almost feel the argan oil, le miel et le beurre de karité.

We finish with a flourish with Mauritius and Tahiti to discover the joys of coconut oil, fresh fruit and flowers paradise.

The + :
+ Wonderful photos that take us into the world of each country.
+ Back to basics, nature and its benefits.
+ A brief history of each country, customs, ingredients and recipes associated.
+ Simple recipes and varied.

The – :
– Recipes with products sometimes a little hard to find or otherwise using techniques somewhat difficult to achieve, with care as the morning dew.
– An address book at the end not very well supplied and intended primarily for Parisians.

But frankly I would recommend this beautiful book, if only to plunge into another world and discover places, des rituels et voyager un peu.

guidebeaute1 Guide to natural beauty
A book by Josephine Fairley, very practical and very natural with recipes ! Some ingredients may be hard to find but overall, un bon livre à avoir.

A book co-written with Sophie and Vania Guet Macheteau, convenient, very well illustrated, simple and easy to understand. By cons I do not recommend it for beginners, they need to understand the basis for a minimum revenue to adapt to their needs.

cosmnaturelNatural Cosmetics
A book written by a great convenience Helen Baron, easy recipes with raw materials readily available. All ingredients are natural and we take pleasure in making our cosmetics with this book ! I also recommended for beginners because it is well explained.

soinsnatureNatural care
Une traduction du livre original “Bodyworks”. Simple book with recipes useful, by cons I do not recommend it at all for beginners, because there is no indication against some essential oils. No explanation either on raw materials, but a very inspiring book for "cosméteuses" confirmed that will be more attention to the use of some essential oils. It is simple and very well illustrated.
